Container Gardening
Instructor:  Kerin Marek, Shades of Green


This class will cover the best soil to use, best fertilizer to use, how to pick out the best annuals for your location, and how to appropriately water and fertilize your container. Learn how to trim and prune the plants in your container. We will talk about using perennials in containers, also using garden spheres and obelisk's.

This class will be both educational and hands on lead by Kerin Marek. Kerin is the owner of Shades of Green Landscaping and has been working with horticulture for 33 years. She is a master gardener and has produced gardening articles for a national gardening magazine. Her gardens have been featured on several TV shows and garden tours.

In this class you will create a beautiful outdoor planted container to display all summer long! Urban Artifacts of Preston will have a display unique metal pieces availbale to purchase to enhance your completed container!

Registration deadline is April 18th. Please indicate at registration if your container will be displayed in the sun or shade. Please bring a 18-24" container to plant for this class, wear garden clothes and gloves. Be ready to play with dirt!
